The classrooms and staff in St. James Assiniboia School Division are ready for students to enter our schools this week to kick off a new school year.

Transportation

A few notes for the days ahead:

• As we experience road construction projects on many major routes in the community of St. James—such as Portage Avenue and west of Sturgeon Road—you can anticipate delays in our transportation services if these locations are along a bus route.
• In addition, as new school routes are being activated this week, please expect some delays in transportation services in the first weeks of school. Please refer to your child's transportation information for times and pick up locations. If you have any questions, contact your child's school.
• As noted last week, the City of Winnipeg would like to remind city transit riders that they launched a new network of transit routes and stops this summer. We expect most students will be well prepared to bus this fall but want to share some resources in case they may be useful.

The First Day of School

Following the completion of Early & Middle Years Triad Conferences on Wednesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 4, students in Early & Middle Years will attend their first day of school on Friday, September 5!
