​Learning is about to blast off in SJASD! For new and returning families, here is some basic information to get you ready for the 2026-27 school year.

The Lineup:

Here's the lineup for the first week of school:

• Tues. Sept. 8 - Inservice (no school).
• Wed. and Thurs. Sept. 9 & 10 - Early & Middle Years Triad Conferences.*
• Fri. Sept. 11 - First day of school for Early & Middle Years students.
  

*Students in Senior Years can check school websites for scheduling details.

To help plan for the new school year, download the 6-Day School Calendar for 2026-27. 

Also, while quantities last, consider picking up a free SJASD 2026-27 12-Month Calendar​. Physical copies are available now at most schools and at the Board Office at 2574 Portage Avenue during regular office hours.

New Youth Transit Passes
As noted recently, the Manitoba government is introducing free Youth Transit Passes for Grade 6–12 students through a pilot partnership with the City of Winnipeg. School staff will distribute Youth Transit Passes to students over the next month according to the following staggered schedule. See story for details and to fill out required caregiver consent form.
