Workers need to be provided with Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) to help ensure they perform their tasks as safely as possible. They also need to be trained on SWPs by a competent person and have competent supervision to monitor their compliance with the steps outlined in SWPs. Failure to follow SWPs, whether due to lack of worker competence or supervision, can expose workers and others to risks of hazards that may cause an incident, resulting in injuries.
The St. James-Assiniboia School Division has developed SWPs for tasks performed within the school division.
