βBullying is an important issue for students regardless of the time of year.
So as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week (Nov. 13-19, 2022) comes to a close, students are encouraged to report bullying concerns to, or connect with, a trusted member of their school team. This could be a teacher, principal, vice-principal, staff member from student services, school guidance counsellor, resource teacher, or another member of their school team.
Whether students are concerned about being bullied, bullying others, a friend that may be experiencing bullying, cyberbullying, or another issue, there is a full listing of bullying and cyberbullying resources available online at Kids Help Phone. SJASD guidance counsellors and resource teachers also have bullying resources available upon request.
The important thing is for students to talk to a trusted, caring adult.
SJASD students that need support can contact their school guidance counsellors or Educational Support Services. For immediate e-mental health support, contact Kids Help Phone (see also, culturally relevant supports for First Nations, Inuit and MΓ©tis youth).
