​On October 31, Grade 12 College Sturgeon Heights Collegiate student Ryan O. was named Urban Athlete of the Week by the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association.

The MHSAA announcement: 

This 6’1” forward is currently 2nd in the Winnipeg High School Hockey League goal scoring race. Ryan scored 5 goals this week in two games including a Hat Trick contributing to the Huskies great start to the season, sitting with a perfect 3-0 record.  As a grade 12 student-athlete Ryan has led by example as the Huskies Assistant captain on the ice all while maintaining strong academic standing in his studies. Coach Tyler Metcalfe states, “Ryan’s speed, size and heavy shot make him a threat every shift. His versatility playing centre, wing and even defense see him logging huge minutes for our team.”
