Sustainable Development
In the 2017-18 school year, a diverse and dynamic group of representatives came together to form a Sustainable Development Committee for St. James-Assiniboia School Division. This team is comprised of project officers, senior administrators, school principals, purchasing personnel, an accounting manager, a communications officer and Human Resources.

Our Mission

compost bins6.pngThe Sustainable Development Committee meets on a monthly basis to address emerging issues and trends in the area of sustainable development, centred on K-12 education and our local and global community. Our mission is to collectively plan, monitor and report on sustainable development matters within our Division on annual basis to build a more sustainable future for our students. This includes providing our staff and students with the tools they need to be advocates for the environment and help them lead sustainable lives.
