There are times when technology fails and rather than see this as a problem, Strathmillan School saw an opportunity!
"When the CD player stopped working we started to invite students to sing O Canada," said principal Mrs. Palmer. "Our first day we had a Grade 4 student named Sophie M. offer to sing for the school. It was magical and now we had a plan!"
A variety of singers have since stepped up including the school choir, classrooms and the Strathmillan Child Care children.
Each day guest singers are announced and the applause can be heard throughout the school by the time they reach the line "True North."
"Strathmillan is all about being PROBLEM SOLVERS and this has become an unexpected gift to start our day," said Mrs. Palmer.
