Out of remembrance for the 215 children whose remains have been found at the former Kamloops residential school and with respect for all those affected, the flags in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division will be flying at half-mast starting Monday, May 31. We also invite everyone to wear an orange shirt on Monday, symbolic of how the residential school system took away the indigenous identity of its students and as an encouragement to learn more about the history of residential schools.
