SJASD students put their digital artwork skills to the test in the Division's annual Graphic Arts Contest.
The competition ran throughout the month of November, with students required to submit their artwork to their graphic arts teacher by November 30, 2023.
Divisional Arts Coordinator Catharine Rivard-Iacozza evaluated and selected the top three entries.
While the competition usually includes Senior Years students only, this year the event was opened up to include Middle Years students as well.
“The high-quality digital art being created in our schools is testament to the hard work and of talented and dedicated students and staff. Their work illustrates just how creative, expressive and diverse digital arts can be. Congratulations to all the students who participated and thank you to their teachers who support and encourage them," says Rivard-Iacozza.
The winners are:
- Sharayah N., First Place, Westwood Collegiate (arch)
- Faireen D, Second Place, St. James Collegiate institute (woman)
- Kyer T., Third Place, John Taylor Collegiate (anime)
This is the second year of the contest. There are over 2,000 Middle and Senior Years students enrolled in Visual/Graphic Arts in SJASD in the 2023–24 school year.
Thanks to everyone who took part.
